She Speaks Conference
I went straight from camp in the Colorado mountains to the "She Speaks Conference" in North Carolina. It just so happened that my best friend's mom, Mrs. Barb, was going to be attending the conference as well. She picked me up from the airport and we headed to the hotel (where the conference was being held). We ate dinner with a bunch of woman that were also attending the conference and then I met up with my awesome chaperone, Vern.
Because I arrived early, it was just Vern and me the first night. The next day we were put into a bigger room where we got a second chaperone (Mackenzie), more roommates, and lots of junk food!! They cared for us well! LOL! After everyone was settled, we headed to the opening ceremony.
My first break-out session was "Fear Not" by Micca Campbell. Mrs. Barb was in the session too which was nice, because I was a bit overwhelmed. Having her there helped calm my nerves. That session was my favorite of them all. I loved how down-to-earth and funny Mrs. Campbell was. Also her message of trusting in God when you're tempted to doubt or fear, really spoke to me.
That night all the teen girls attending the conference had a movie/pajama party downstairs in one of the meeting rooms of the hotel. We watched "A Walk to Remember". When the movie was over, we stayed up late talking and laughing.
The next morning was a full day of sessions! The atmosphere of the conference was amazing! Everyone was laughing and encouraging one another. I learned so much in such a short amount of time. I left feeling encouraged, stronger in my walk with the Lord, and ready to do whatever God calls me to do.
I got to have lunch with Mrs. Suzanne Eller, the lady who critiqued my winning devotion. She said that I have a lot of talent and that I'm a reflective and deep writer. I was very excited, because I didn't think I was a very good writer at all. That's why I was hesitant to enter the contest in the first place, but the Lord helped me write that devotion.
I highly recommend going to the conference! Thank you, everyone who took a part in helping make that conference happen! It was great! I hope to go again next year!

I'm back from Camp!!
I went to Spring Canyon on the 27th of June. I was a guest for a week with my family and then when they left, I started working. It was a blast! I was so glad to be with my friends. I hadn't seen them in a year!

When the staff is done working after dinner, we get to do some fun stuff. On Sundays, we have a bonfire and share what God is doing in our lives. On Mondays, we join the guests for square dancing and then the staff swing dances. On Tuesdays, we usually watch movies. Wednesdays, we join the guests for talent night and then sometimes, we play sardines. Thursdays are game night. Friday is bible study night. And, Saturday, we go into town for ice cream and play ultimate frisbee.
We also went rock climbing, rappelling and white water rafting! We hiked to the top of the Continental Divide and ate ice cream sandwhiches while star gazing. Once, the volunteer staff got to go snipe hunting, anyone who has ever been will know how fun and hilarious that is ;-p We got to go to a street dance the town was having in celebration of the 4th of July. The town also had a music festival with a bunch of local bands that sounded really bad, but it was a lot of fun.
It wasn't all fun and games though. We had to do a lot of hard work! This year we stained a lot of the cabins and the bridges by the pond. We cleaned up before and after meals, did laundry, cleaned every cabin once a week, landscaped, chopped wood, and whatever needed to be done to keep the camp running smoothly and looking nice.
I had to leave a couple of days earlier than everyone else because I had to go to the "She Speaks Conference" in North Carolina. On my last night we had a formal swing dance night. The last song they played was one of my favorite songs: 'Crazier' by Taylor Swift. They had everyone gather in a circle around me and all the guys had to steal a dance from me. It was so much fun!
I love Spring Canyon and everyone there! Thank you for making this a wonderful year! I can't wait to go back next year!

Proverbs 31 called!
On the 17th of June, I was in the car with my grandparents heading to Fort Myers, FL, when I got a call from my mom. She told me that Proverbs 31 called. I won the devotion contest! I was so excited!
I'll go directly from camp to the conference in August. Here's my devotion: http://http://radrevolution.blogspot.com/2009/06/faith-to-trust.html

You want ME to write?
A few days ago, I got an e-mail from Mrs. Shari Brandel (Fashion Meets Faith). She wanted to know if I was interested in writing articles for Proverbs 31's teen site (radrevolution.blogspot.com), and if I wanted to enter their devotion writing contest. Of course, I was interested and immediately began working on my article.
I was unsure about entering the devotion contest. The prize was a scholarship to Proverb 31 ministry's "She Speaks" conference. The prize sounded awesome, but I was worried I wouldn't do a good job. Then I remembered, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me"(Phl 4:13). God was going to help me write, I didn't have to do it all by myself. So I decided to enter. I've been praying for the past 3 days about what to write and there are only 2 days left before it's due! I'll keep you posted on what happens!
I decided to write my article on Switch Flops. Proverbs 31 loved it! They want me to write more! I'm so excited! Here's my article: http://radrevolution.blogspot.com/2009/06/flip-flops-with-twist.html
Enjoy! XOXO,

My surprise!
I went away for a couple of weeks to visit my grandparents in Florida, and when I got back my family surprised me with me own room!! I LOVE IT! My mom decorated it perfectly! Now all I want to do is hang out in my room. We're going to paint it soon.
Here's some pictures:
